The owner of the property at the top of Old 70 has decided to revoke his permission to the Forest Service for use of Old 70 near Black Mtn and the top of Mill Creek Rd. You are trespassing on Private Property if you use the upper portion of Old 70 and there may be legal consequences if you are caught on this property.

 

The Mythical Bandersnatch Of Pisgah

Deep within the realm of the Trail Goddess, Pisgah, I rode my 26er. Deftly carving lines through rocks and roots I was pushing my limits to the extreme. The beast had chased me this far. I spotted it. I caught just a glint of red between the mountain’s trees. I felt it. It wanted me. It hunted me as though I were a play thing. Coming close enough I could feel its breath on my neck and then receding into the forest as though a overcast shadow.

Approaching the root and rock drop, slimy with wet moss from the previous spring storm that saturated the forest floor I felt the ground spin. As I began to tumble from my 26er I twisted myself to land on my pack and I rolled backwards down the slope to take the greater part of the impact. Quickly, quickly, very quickly I jumped to my feet! I looked up and saw to my anguish the beast had already attained what I sought. My 26er lay broken at its clawed talons. More...
